The Social Media Directory for Designers launched this past Wednesday to an outpouring of support from the design community at large.

Over two thousand visitors in it’s first day, hundreds of submissions, and with it reaching the top of Design Float’s most popular of the year within it’s first thirteen hours, proved that this community networking tool is a welcome addition to online designers.

We were completely blown away by the response that we received for launch day. Not to mention the overwhelming show of faith in the directory’s mission from Graham. Much love to you all.

Social Media Direcotry for Designers

For those who are not familiar with what we’ve got going on over at the Directory for Designers, it’s a site where designers can come together and share all of their social media networking information with each other. Each directory housing a compilation of community members who share their work through or simply use that particular avenue of networking. In an attempt to further the connectivity among the eagerly sociable design community, the Arbenting design blog duo put together this useful tool and have proudly presented it to the masses.

Stop by and check it out if you haven’t, and subscribe to the RSS feeds for the different directories to which you belong in order to keep up with the latest additions to the lists. If you already have checked it out, then we can’t thank you enough for the memorable launch day that you have helped to give us.

We felt so much love from the community that we built this for, it was truly an inspirational and touching day. From MarcoFolio’s assistance with some glitches that hadn’t been quite sorted, to the number of people that shared the information throughout the interwebs, it was an affecting day. A day that kept us running on just a few hours sleep that we nabbed in the middle of the afternoon when the excitement of the day was no longer enough to sustain us and keep our eyes from sliding shut.

And again, for that, we thank you all. Here’s to the future of the directory and the community it’s meant to support!
